The Joker has escaped from the Mental Hospital for the Criminally Insane, where Batman once confined him — and this time, he’s out for blood. Before his incarceration, the Clown Prince of Crime learned that one of his former gang members had betrayed him to the police. In response, he swore a deadly oath: all five members of his old gang would die.
Only Batman stands between the Joker and his murderous vendetta. Despite the Dark Knight’s relentless pursuit, the Joker manages to eliminate nearly everyone on his list. Batman is drawn into the case after the first killing, when a grinning corpse is discovered in the mud just outside Gotham City. Racing against time, Batman tracks down each surviving gang member, attempting to protect them before the Joker strikes again.
